Man in serious condition after Navan stabbing

Man suffered injuries to arms and at least one stab wound to his stomach in attack

Gardaí are investigating a stabbing in Navan, Co Meath, in which a man was seriously injured.

The stabbing took place in the Beechmount Gardens area at 4.30am on Monday.

A 25-year-old man was brought to the emergency department at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan with serious injuries.

He was later transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co Louth.

He is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

It is understood he sustained defence injuries to his arms and at least one stab wound to his stomach.

Technical examination

Gardaí have preserved the scene for a technical examination. No arrests have been made so far in connection with the stabbing.
