Arrest made after man injured in incident at Carrickmines Retail Park in south Dublin

A man has been arrested over the stabbing of another man in Carrickmines.
A man has been arrested over the stabbing of another man in Carrickmines.

A 35-year-old man was due in court this afternoon in connection with a stabbing incident at Carrickmines Retail Park, Sandyford, on Friday.

The injured male remains in a stable condition in hospital.

The altercation took place between two men outside a food shop at Carrickmines Retail Park at about 4.25pm.

A 44-year-old man received stab injuries and was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital. where he underwent surgery.

In a follow up operation in the early hours of Saturday morning, a 35-year-old male was arrested in the Kingscourt area of Co Cavan.

He was brought to Blackrock Garda station where he was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
