Four arrested amid drugs raids in Dublin and Wicklow

Heroin and cannabis discovered by gardaí in separate seizures valued at over €700,000

Gardaí have arrested four men in two separate drug seizures in Dublin and Wicklow.

In Dublin gardaí arrested three men as they seized heroin valued at €650,000 last night.

Gardaí stopped and searched the men, all in their 30s, on the Crumlin Road at about 6.30pm. They seized some heroin and arrested the men.

In a follow up search at an apartment in West Park, Rathcoole at about 8pm gardaí found a large quantity of heroin estimated to be valued at €650,000. They also seized drug paraphernalia including a hydraulic press, bagging materials and scales.

The men are being held at Irishtown, Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations.

The discovery was part of an intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs and searches were carried out by gardaí from the Dublin south central crime task forces.

Separately a man in his 30s was arrested by gardaí in Co Wicklow yesterday after they discovered cannabis plant valued at €90,000.

Gardaí carried out a planned search of two adjoining houses on Quill Road, Kilmacanogue at about 1pm. They discovered the plants at various stages of growth. The man is being held at Bray Garda station. Gardaí have preserved the scene at Kilmacanogue for technical examination.

The search was part of an intelligence led operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Wicklow area.
