Bus driver slashed in Larne robbery attempt

A bus driver was slashed in the head, face and arm after two men demanded money from him in Larne, Co Antrim last night.

A bus driver was slashed in the head, face and arm after two men demanded money from him in Larne, Co Antrim last night.

The man had just parked his bus in the bus station on Circular Road at 9.40 p.m. when the two men approached him.

They demanded money from the coin tray and while the driver was removing it he was attacked with a knife, the police said.

He later received 25 stitches for his injuries. The two attackers fled the scene on foot empty-handed.
