WEB VIDEOS:HOLIDAYMAKERS will be able to experience the sights and sounds of a city destination before they travel thanks to a website set up by Irishman Stephen O'Shaughnessy.

TravelGuide.TV provides free video clips and information for cities all over the world, linking to hotel, restaurant and tour bookings at the same time.

O'Shaughnessy said this week his aim was to create well-organised video travel guides that are simple to use for anyone going on a city holiday.

So far the website has 25 cities, including capitals such as Washington, Paris and Buenos Aires; resort cities such as Miami and Rio de Janeiro; historic cities such as Philadelphia and Dublin; and the fashion and business hubs of London and Milan.

Each city video features information in nine categories, including previews of attractions, tours and museums, where to sample nightlife, relaxing and romantic hotels, transport and restaurants and shops.

The filming, music, voice-overs and post-production work have all been handled from Dublin, according to O'Shaughnessy, who plans to develop videos for 25 more cities,

"The purpose of the venture is to give the punter well-organised video travel guides that are simple to use for anyone going on a city holiday and that are easy to find on the web.

"For website operators we have a syndication player, which provides a great way to share a unique insight on travel destinations with anyone. Our customisable embedded video-player lets you show these videos to your visitors free of charge."
