This week, we meet up Gary Jackson’s, owner of Gary’s Barber in Hollywood in Co Down to discuss his dapper look and summer plans.
Tell us about your outfit
Well it’s nothing spectacular. The boots I’m wearing are Trickers – they’re the oldest shoe manufacturers in the UK, still being made in Nottingham. These dark denim jeans are Diesel. My blazer and waistcoat are River Island, they were a great find. All the rest I got in a charity shop in Hollywood near Belfast where I live, I love finding little gems!
How would you describe your personal style?
I’m just having fun! I suppose my style is quite dapper but quirky. Dee Graham, a friend of mine, is a bespoke handmade suit tailor. We collaborate together regularly, depending on the occasion he’ll make me a suit to fit. I’m kind of like his walking mannequin!
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Well I’m really looking forward to going home this evening and watching the Northern Ireland match, here’s hoping they win (editor’s note - they didn’t, but played their hearts out against Germany .
I’ll be going to Barber Connect in Newport, Wales. That will be great fun, 5,000 creatives together discussing their ideas and what not. I’ll be wearing one of Dee’s suits that he’s made me especially. Other than that, I’m off to Berlin, Prague and Vienna for 10 days with my wife.
