A man has been arrested after a 17-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Listowel, Co Kerry.
Gardaí said a van failed to stop at the scene of collision, which happened at around 2.30am at Dromin Upper on the N69 between Listowel and Tarbert.
The pedestrian, who was from west Co Limerick, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Kerry in Tralee, where a postmortem will be carried out.
Gardaí later located the van and arrested a man in his late 30s for questioning. The vehicle was seized and will be forensically examined.

The N69 was closed between Cahirdown Roundabout and Derry in Listowel, with diversions put in place to allow the crash scene to be examined.
Gardaí are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling on N69 near Dromin Upper between 2.30am and 4am on Saturday and those with camera footage, including dashcam, that could assist the investigation.
