Gardaí are investigating the shooting of a man in Limerick City.
The man, in his 60s, was shot in the upper body outside a house, at Hyde Road, around 4.30pm, Sunday.
Gardaí believe two masked and armed men traveling on bicycles pulled up out outside a house and fired a number of shots hitting the man.
The man is being treated at University Hospital Limerick for gunshot wounds to his chest.

Sources believe the shooting is linked to an ongoing feud between two rival criminal organisations based on the south side of the Treaty City.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardaí responded to reports of the discharge of a firearm at a premises on Hyde Road, Limerick, this afternoon, Sunday 19th July 2026.”
“The incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm.”
“A male aged in his 60s, was removed from the scene to University Hospital limerick to be treated for injuries.”
Gardai said the “scene is currently held for examination”.
