As Storm Éowyn continues to hit parts of Ireland, a number of disruptions have been reported – from power outages to fallen trees and beyond.

Many people woke up to gale-force winds on Friday but Met Éireann has warned that the worst is yet to come for much of the northern half of the country and the midlands.

Record-breaking gusts of 183km/h have been recorded at Mace Head, Co Galway.

Public transport has been cancelled for the duration of the red warnings and the advice remains to stay indoors.

Impacts of the storm could include danger to life, extremely dangerous travelling conditions, unsafe working conditions, disruption and cancellations to transport, many fallen trees, significant and widespread power outages, impacts to communications networks, cancellation of events, structural damage, wave overtopping and coastal flooding in low-lying and exposed areas.
