Sony Bravia A95k TV

Tech Tools: Latest in new generation of OLED TVs offers boosted brightness and contrast

Price: TBA

January means CES, which means new TV time, and Sony didn't disappoint at CES 2022. The tech giant's Bravia A95k TV brings with it some advanced features. It's one of Sony's new generation OLED TVs, with a QD-OLED panel, and Sony's Cognitive processor XR that analyses visual information and enhances pictures. That means boosted colour brightness and better contrast, and less glare, leading to overall better picture quality. Its intelligent motion processing, XR OLED Motion, delivers smooth, fast-moving action, combatting blur even in fast-mving action sequences.

It also has Google TV and voice comands, so you can access your smart TV features at a voice command or two.

You can also unlock a number of features with Bravia Cam, including customised sound for your position in the room, and auto dimming when you aren’t in the room.

One for parents to watch for: a future update will also bring proximity alerts to the TV, so if your child gets too close to the screen, you’ll get an alert to let you know. Other future features planned include auto dimming the TV when you aren’t in front of it, and gesture control for volume and changing channels.

Prices haven’t been released yet for the Irish market, but it’s unlikely to be cheap.
