Irish digital therapeutics company HealthBeacon has begun selling its Smart Sharps Bin directly to consumers in the United States as part of a partnership with US company Hamilton Beach Brands.

HealthBeacon, which develops products for managing injectable medications for patients in the home, signed a multiyear commercial arrangement with one of the largest independent pharmacy benefits managers in the US at the start of this month. It said the deal would make its injection care management system more widely available to the nine million patients in the US who self-administer injections at home.

The Smart Sharps Bin is being branded as Hamilton BeachHealth powered by HealthBeacon. It is being sold through the Smartsharpsbin. com website and through Amazon.

Intelligent medication management

The bin, which was introduced in 2014 and is now available in 17 global markets, provides intelligent medication management reminders, tracks injection adherence, offers 24/7 live customer care, and provides for the safe and convenient disposal of used syringes.
