Almost 200 new jobs announced

Food companies announce the creation of 134 new jobs, with Dublin-based technical support provider set to employ a further 50 people

Stream Global Services, the global provider of business process outsourcing services, is to create 50 permanent and 200 seasonal positions at its operations in Swords and Santry in Dublin.

The new positions across the Dublin sites will focus on providing technical support solutions for one of Stream’s global clients – a leading name in video gaming systems.

The company will host an open house at its Santry location on Saturday, September 28th between 11 am and 3 pm, to discuss career opportunities.

O’Brien Fine Foods, a producer of premium cooked hams, sausages, rashers and puddings for the retail trade markets in the UK and Ireland, is also on the recruitment trail. It is set to invest over €3 million in a major development programme and create 51 new jobs at its Timahoe, Co Kildare plant over the next three years. The investment will enable the company to invest in a  major new product development drive and expand operational capacity, all aimed at meeting increasing demand for its products and at accelerating the international roll-out of its highly successful product range.  Recruitment begins immediately and this will bring employment levels in the company to more than 275 people over the next three years.

Meanwhile in Westmeath, Green Farm Foods,  a producer of premium cooked meat products, is to invest €2.8 million in a major expansion programme will also lead to the creation of 30 new jobs, bringing total employment in Green Farm Foods to 160. The investment will see the company double its production capacity to meet increasing demand for its products, allowing it expand its existing international markets and enter new markets.

And in Co. Monaghan, Swift Fine Foods, a producer of chilled and frozen ready meals, will create 53 new jobs at its plant in Castleblayney.
