French luxury group Hermes said on Monday the brand's womenswear designer Christophe Lemaire was leaving to focus on developing his own eponymous fashion label.

Lemaire, who was previously at Lacoste, joined Hermes in June 2010 to replace the famous French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Hermes said Lemaire would leave after presenting his last collection at Paris Fashion Week in October.
