The Central Bank has appointed Patricia Dunne as its new director of securities and markets supervision.

The Central Bank has appointed Patricia Dunne as its new director of securities and markets supervision.

She replaces Colm Kincaid, who was appointed director of consumer protection in October.

Ms Dunne has more than three decades of regulatory, supervisory and policy expertise in the asset management, investment funds and banking sectors.

She has served as head of markets supervision for the past four years. In this position she had responsibility for the supervision and surveillance of financial markets, including the development of integrated data analytics and risk analysis supervision.

"Patricia brings a wealth of securities markets expertise and leadership experience to the role," said Central Bank governor Gabriel Makhlouf.

“She has first-rate knowledge of the international regulatory landscape and will be to the forefront of our strategic work in using data and analytics to enhance our supervisory effectiveness,” he added.
