Online publication DailyEdge.ie is being wound down, the website has confirmed.

In a statement on the site, the company said it would no longer be posting new content to the site.

“After nearly nine years of laughs, tears, makeup and crisps, we have decided the time is right to wind down the publication,” the post on the site read.

DailyEdge is part of Journal media, which publishes TheJournal.ie, business site Fora and sports site The42. The company is currently working on a new investigative journalism project called Noteworthy.

DailyEdge was founded in 2010, and covered internet pop culture, from live blogging the Rose of Tralee and the Toy Show to recapping Love/Hate and offering relationship advice, beauty insights and a highly controversial ranking of chocolate bars.

“We think you can take it from here. For our part, we’ve loved the journey and our publishers Journal Media have some exciting plans for the future,” the site said.
