Technology company VCE is to create 150 new jobs at its international headquarters in Cork.

The company is looking for software engineers, developers and R&D support staff, with recruitment already underway for a number of positions.

The new R&D roles will significantly expand VCE’s existing operations in Ireland, which include professional and customer services, manufacturing, sales operations and general support functions.

VCE, which expects to employ more than 250 people in Cork by 2015, said the new jobs would be created over the next two years.

"Converged Infrastructure from VCE is changing the game for how IT is deployed, operated and consumed, and we're excited to partner with IDA Ireland to expand our operations in Cork as a global innovation hub for VCE," chief financial officer Bob Taccini said.

Welcoming the announcement, IDA Ireland chief executive Barry O’Leary said the choice of Cork for the new R&D centre further endorses Ireland’s established reputation for R&D activities in the international marketplace.
