Receiver puts profitable 79-bedroom hotel with leisure centre on the market

The Midleton Park Hotel and Leisure Centre in Midleton, Co Cork, goes for sale today at an asking price of €2.5 million.

Denis O'Donoghue of Savills Hotels and Leisure is handling the sale on the instructions of David Carson of Deloitte who was appointed receiver by Bank of Ireland.

The three-star hotel has been operating for the past 24 years and is currently trading profitably with a turnover in excess of €3.5 million.

It is currently being managed by Dalata Hotels whose contract can be terminated by a new owner.

Facilities
The hotel has 79 bedrooms, a bar, restaurant and conference and banqueting facilities to cater for up to 300 people.

A high quality leisure centre opened in 2000 includes an 18-metre swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room and a fully equipped gym which is currently used by up to 1,500 members.

The 3.75-acre grounds include an office extending to 167sq m (1,805sq ft).

The hotel is located within a few minutes’ walk of Midleton, a town with a population of over 12,000 people which has grown steadily over the years as a dormitory centre for Cork city only 22km away.

Midleton Whiskey Distillery is one of the largest employers in the area while nearby Carrigtwohill and Little Island also have major industries such as Johnson & Johnson, Stryker and GE Healthcare.
