A former convent on Kimberely Road in Greystones is one of three development opportunities which have come on the market in Co Wicklow.
Savills is handling the sale of the 170-year-old convent and a residential site in Bray.
Separately, Knight Frank is marketing another residential development opportunity in Kilcoole.
Cianan Duff of Savills is guiding in excess of €550,000 for the old convent which is apparently in good order and suitable for a wide variety of uses allowed under the town centre zoning. The first floor of the building with superb views over the coastline has been used in recent years as dormitory-style accommodation for visiting nuns. Savills is expecting plenty of interest in the building because if its closeness to the seafront and town centre.
Bray site
The Bray site extends to 0.23 of a hectare (0.59 of an acre) and is located on Strand Road, about 500 metres from Bray train station with uninterrupted views of the beach and Bray Head. The site had planning approval for 39 homes and one commercial unit which recently ran out.
John Swarbrigg of Savills is guiding €750,000 plus VAT for the site and suggests that interested parties will recognise the opportunity to use it for a mixed-use scheme.
“We would expect very good interest to be shown in this site given the planning history and the fact that it is an affordable lot size,” he said
Knight Frank is guiding more than €450,000 for an irregularly shaped development site of 1.18 acres at Kilcoole, a village with a population of around 4,000.
Around 0.9 of an acre of the land is zoned for residential use while the balance is designated as open space under the local area development plan. The site has dual frontage on Main Street and Cooldross Lane.
