The appeal of Naas town centre as a shopping option is to be given a much needed boost with the decision by the lifestyle retailer Meadows & Byrne together with Costa Coffee to open new flagship stores there early this summer.

It will be the 13th outlet to be operated by Meadows & Byrne which was founded in 1993 and is renowned for its homeware and interior collections as well as innovative gifts and elegant fashions.

Freda Hayes, managing director of the company, said they were looking forward to opening their new store alongside Costa in what was "one of the best towns in Ireland".

Meadows & Byrne will trade out of a substantial building extending to 1,010sq m (10,878sq ft) alongside the Costa outlet which will have a floor area of 204sq m (2,200sq ft).
