Letter of the Day

Sir, – Sometimes artists get vilified over ticket prices and length of performances. But not Sheffield man Richard Hawley and his band.

On Wednesday night at the Olympia they played a continuous set for two hours and 35 minutes and all for the princely sum of ¤55.

The only thing that detracted from this fantastically entertaining show was the large number of people using their phones to record the events onstage.

At one stage a couple a few rows in front of me were both recording at the same time.

Bob Dylan has the right idea at his concerts where everyone deposits their phones on their way in and get them back at the end of the night.

Whatever happened to living in the moment? – Yours, etc,
