Sir, – As storm Amy blew herself across Ireland last Friday, she did so taking our mains electricity with her for 21 hours. This household thankfully had solar panels and a 10kw battery system to keep us going.
When you become a solar power system owner, you quickly learn how to gauge electricity production by the look of the sky and the clock of the sun. And on Saturday morning, neither let us down.
Sitting at our kitchen table at 10am, we suddenly heard the hum of the invertor as she began to sing.
