Woman dies in Cork road crash

A woman in her 20s has been killed in a crash between a car and a truck in Co Cork early this morning.

A woman in her 20s has been killed in a crash between a car and a truck in Co Cork early this morning.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene at the Rathduff turnoff on the main Cork-Mallow Road.

The woman was travelling towards Cork city where she worked when the collision occurred.

The driver of the truck was uninjured but badly shaken. He was treated for shock at the scene.

Gardaí have closed off the road and diversions have been put in place to allow forensic crash investigators examine the scene. Driving conditions are bad in the area and gardaí have urged motorists to drive with caution.
