Cannabis worth €350,000 seized from ‘sophisticated grow house’

A man who was arrested following the seizure of €350,000 worth of cannabis plants and dried cannabis at a home in Co Kerry has been released.

Gardaí from Listowel discovered a collection of cannabis plants at various stages of maturity and dried cannabis following a planned search at a house in Moyvane on Monday afternoon.

The drugs were seized from what was described as “a sophisticated grow house”.

A Garda spokeesman said the drugs seized had an estimated street value of up to €350,000, pending analysis.

A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Listowel Garda station. He has since been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The scene has been preserved and is under technical examination, a Garda statement said.
