Wholesale prices rise 0.2% in October

The price of goods leaving factory gates were 0.2 per cent higher in October, according to the latest wholesale price index from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

This compares to an increase of 0.9 per cent for October of last year.

The annual percentage change showed a decrease of 2.6 per cent in October , compared to a decrease of 1.9 per cent in the year to September .

In the year, the CSO said there was a decrease of 2.7 per cent in the price index for export sales (this can be influenced by currency fluctuations) and an increase of 4 per cent in respect of the price index for home sales.
