Gordon Reid to become the club and coach development officer for rowing in Northern Ireland

New full-time position is being funded by Sport Northern Ireland

Gordon Reid is to become the club and coach development officer for rowing in Northern Ireland. The new full-time position is being funded by Sport Northern Ireland, who have also renewed the contract of the talent identification coach, Nathan Adams.

Reid says he will work alongside Pat McInerney, the coach education officer of Rowing Ireland. “I suspect I will be feeding off him and he will be feeding off me. The aim is that not just the Northern Ireland clubs will benefit from this, but that there will be benefits for everybody.”

The Ireland canoe sprint team has returned home after their best ever results at the European Championships.

Ireland competitors reached four A Finals in Montemor-o-Velho in Portugal. Pat O’Leary also qualified for the A Final of the European Paracanoe Championships, which took place alongside the Europeans.
