Covid – a 19 year-old writes

Sir, – I’m a 19-year-old student in Limerick. I want to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the renewed Covid restrictions which came into place on Thursday.

The most frustrating thing for me is that there doesn’t seem to be any plan or reasoning in what we are doing. We have vaccinated the population but we still put new measures in place? What that says to me is that there is permanency in this way of living. That frightens me because I don’t think I could continue with this.

We young people of Ireland have suffered immensely during the last 18 months for a problem that doesn’t endanger us. We have sacrificed enough.

There is no viable solution available. I want the restrictions to end completely.
