A garda investigation into the death of a woman in north Kerry will be guided by the results of a postmortem on the remains.
The woman's body was found early on Monday morning just outside the village of Lixnaw. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman appeared to have died sometime on Sunday night.
A Garda spokeswoman said officers are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the death.
“A postmortem will take place and the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.”
The woman’s body has been removed for examination to University Hospital Kerry and the State Pathologists Office has been alerted.
The woman’s home has been sealed off by Garda scenes of crime examiners.
