This week, I feature wines from two of the better-known wine regions of France. Muscadet, at the mouth of the river Loire, is famous for producing racy, light, cleansing wines that go so well with the local produce – shellfish. Muscadet and oysters is a classic combination, as is a plateau de fruits de mer, a whole platter of mixed shellfish.
This is the third vintage of Château Les Trois Manoirs I have featured, and the 2021 is every bit as good as its predecessors, if not better. If you are a fan of Bordeaux, I would certainly stock up on this seasonal special.

Specially Selected Muscadet de Sèvre & Maine sur lie 2024

Château Les Trois Manoirs 2021, Cru Bourgeois, Médoc
13%, €11.99
Fresh blackcurrant and plum fruits with a touch of spice and light tannins on the finish. This would go nicely with roast lamb and beef, or firm cheeses. Classic Bordeaux at a bargain price.
