O’Briens has three lovely chenin blancs from South Africa including the wine below, a perennial favourite of mine. If you haven’t tried one before this offers a great opportunity to taste South Africa’s favourite grape variety.
Chateau de Caraguilhes is an organic estate in Corbières in the south of France. It is made from a blend of three traditional grapes; Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. At €12.95 it offers exceptional value for money.

Very seductive ripe aromas with smooth, elegant herb-tinged dark fruits and light tannins. Try it with a herby, garlic-studded roast of lamb, or grilled pork chops.
