Accounts of Graeme McDowell’s firm show profit of £2.6m in 2012

Golf major winner Graeme McDowell’s career continues to flourish under the direction of the Dublin sports agency spurned by his close friend Rory McIlroy.

New accounts filed by Mr McDowell’s Boyport Services Ltd show the firm enjoyed its most successful year to date in 2012 after recording profits of £2.643 million (€3.1m).

The records lodged with Companies House in the UK show that accumulated profits increased from £3.539 million to £6.182 million in the 12 months to the end of December last.

The profit increase in 2012 followed a £2 million increase in profits to £3.5 million in the previous year.

Mr McDowell's career is steered by Conor Ridge's Horizon Sports Management agency.

The Dublin-based agency is currently involved in a public spat with Mr McDowell’s friend Rory McIlroy, who has exited his management relationship.

This year Mr McDowell extended his business interests when he opened Nona Blue Tavern, which houses a sports bar and a restaurant in Orlando, Florida, where he has lived for the past eight years.
