Tyrone defy the odds

The juniors of Tyrone upset a highly-fancied Dublin side at Parnell Park yesterday. And like the Division One final which followed, it was all but over by the half-time break.

Caroline Kelly maintained the early run of scores with a confident goal on 14 minutes and in between Lynette Hughes and especially Eilish Gormley increased the lead so that they were 1-9 to 0-5 up after the half hour.

Dublin momentarily lifted themselves with an early goal from Julie Kavanagh after the restart but that was there only real highlight.
