Manchester City midfielder James Milner is hopeful of proving his fitness for this weekend's Premier League clash with West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.

The England international was forced off with a hamstring injury at half-time of last week’s 3-1 defeat at Tottenham.

The 27-year-old told the club’s website, www.mcfc.co.uk: “I had a tight hamstring and as frustrating as it was to come off, I think it was the right decision.

“I’m hoping to get back into training and hopefully be fine for the weekend, which is obviously a positive.”
