Shamrock Rovers have been drawn to play Molde in the Conference League knockout playoff.
Rovers just missed out on an automatic place in the last 16 on goal difference following their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Hoops still will be proud of reaching a knockout stage of a European competition proper for the first time, as they prepare to play Molde on February 13th and February 20th, 2025.
The Hoops finished on 11 points in the league phase, with wins over Larne, TNS and Borac. Who will be lining out for the Hoops in February is uncertain, with the year’s end bringing a number of contracts and loan agreements to a conclusion. Manager Stephen Bradley acknowledged that a number of players have likely now played their last game for the club.
Molde finished 23rd in the league table, with two wins also, over Larne and Mladá Boleslav. They won the Norwegian Cup last year, this year they are fifth in the Norwegian league.
