Connacht’s historic BKT URC fixture against Munster in Castlebar in March has sold out, the province has confirmed.

A crowd of over 25,000 will be in attendance at MacHale Park for the fixture on March 29th, smashing the province’s all-time attendance record.

The previous record of 9,120 was set at Connacht’s first Champions Cup fixture in 2011 at Dexcom Stadium against Toulouse.

Tickets first went on sale last Wednesday to season ticket holders, who had a 48-hour priority window to choose their location in the ground and purchase additional tickets.

Friday then saw sales open to the 11,000 people who had registered their interest via the Connacht Rugby website before the remaining allocation of tickets were snapped up within an hour of going on general sale at 10am on Monday morning.
