Ireland's Liam Jegou has qualified for the semi-final of the Under-23 canoe slalom World Championships in Krakow in Poland. The France-based paddler, who is just a year out of junior ranks, finished outside the qualification mark on his first run, but set an excellent time on the second run to make it into the top 20 in his C1 (Canadian canoe).

In the Junior Championships at the same venue, Robert Hendrick, also in a C1, was just .72 of a second off the qualification mark in his first run while Caoimhe O'Farrell missed out in the junior C1.
