Sean O hAilpin will miss Cork's Munster hurling championship clash with Limerick tomorrow after damaging his knee in a car crash on Thursday. Although the injury is not serious, he underwent an operation at Cork University Hospital yesterday and is definitely out of the Pairc Ui Chaoimh game.
The accident involving two cars happened just outside Templemore and O hAilpin was detained overnight at Nenagh Hospital. He was transferred to Cork yesterday. It is uncertain how long he will be ruled out.
Football manager Larry Tompkins will be keeping a close eye on his progress ahead of his side's clash with Clare on June 24th. Should Cork's hurlers win tomorrow, they are due to play Waterford in the Munster semi-final on June 10th.
O hAilpin had been named at wing back for tomorrow's game, and his place is now likely to go to Pat Ryan. Already missing from the team through injuries are Brian Corcoran and Fergal McCormack. Corcoran, recovering from a broken finger, is named on the bench and may make an appearance.
