American Martin Trainer is out in front at the top of the leaderboard after a weather-disrupted second round of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open.
Graeme McDowell, Shane Lowry and Séamus Power all missed the cut after two rounds in Texas. McDowell was the right side of the cut line when his round was halted by weather on the 12th, but two bogeys after he came back out ensured he finished on three over overall.
Power shot a level par 70 to remain on five over overall while Lowry ended up on two over after a second round 73.
Second round leader Trainer shot his second straight five-under 65 to lead by a stroke from compatriot Kevin Tway, whose rounds of 67 and 64 took him to nine-under.
After long weather delays on day one, only around half the field had completed two rounds by Friday night.
Jason Kokrak sat third at eight-under after completing 11 unblemished holes of his second round in a superb six-under par, with Adam Long a further shot away after carding 66-67.
Below an all-American top 13, England’s Aaron Rai was the best-placed among a struggling UK contingent, his rounds of 71 and 69 leaving him 10 off the pace in equal 43rd.
