Philip McMahon and Paul Murphy to pick up GWA awards

Oisín McConville and Brendan Cummins are also set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame

Dublin’s Philip McMahon and Kilkenny’s Paul Murphy are to be presented with their awards as Personality of the Year in football and hurling, respectively at the annual dinner of the Gaelic Writers Association on Friday night in Dublin.

Other award winners will be All-Ireland medallists Armagh’s Oisín McConville and Tipperary’s Brendan Cummins, who are to be inducted into the GWA Hall of Fame.

RTÉ broadcaster and journalist Michael Lyster will also be amongst those honoured tonight, as he is to receive the GWA Lifetime Achievement Award. Kerry’s John O’Leary will also be honoured as the PRO of the Year.
