Padraig Corcoran is Kerry’s new coach in backroom reshuffle

He’s been a member of Éamonn Fitzmaurice’s back room team since 2012

Kerry senior football team manager, Eamonn Fitzmaurice, has named Padraig Corcoran as the new trainer/selector to replace Cian O’Neill who has taken over the reins in his native Kildare.

Corcoran is a Dingle club man and Kerry GAA say he has been “very active with his club training teams at all levels”. He also trained the Kerry minor team in 2010 and 2011 as a member of Pat O’Driscoll’s management team.

In a statement released on Monday night the county board added that “Pádraig has been an important member of Éamonn Fitzmaurice’s back room team since 2012 where he has worked closely with the management as an S&C coach”.

Fitzmaurice has also added former Kerry All-Ireland winning captain Liam Hassett as a selector for 2016 along with Mikey Sheehy and Diarmuid Murphy. The Laune Rangers club man holds three All-Ireland senior and two All-Ireland Under-21 medals, and is a former All Star. In recent times he has been managing his club, Laune Rangers.
