Fasliyev, the unbeaten and top rated two-year-old of Europe, was last night fighting a career-threatening injury at a veterinary hospital in Kildare. The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt was discovered to have a fracture of his off-fore pastern when he pulled up lame at Ballydoyle yesterday.
O'Brien said: "Hopefully he will have a calm night and we will see how he is in the morning. But there must be a doubt about him ever racing again."
Fasliyev's had five races this season and his wins included the Group One Prix Morny and the Heinz 57 Stakes.
John Egan, who was suspended for four days at Newmarket yesterday, has been booked to partner Tedburrow if Eric Alston's stable star gets a run in the Breeders' Cup at Gulfstream Park, Florida, on November 6th.
Alston said at Redcar yesterday: "we make the entry on October 25th and they let us know three days later if he gets in, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
"I think John has ridden the horse only once before and they got on very well, winning a listed race at Chester. I am pleased we have been able to book him."
