Sir, – Cormac McQuinn reminds us that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar told the Dáil last month: “it’s not so cheap and not so rapid” (“Problems finding suitable sites plaguing efforts to deliver modular homes for Ukrainian refugees”, News, April 10th).
He was speaking of the setbacks to the delivery of modular homes for Ukrainian refugees.
But he could put the phrase to music and trot it out in relation to the national children’s hospital, the planned new maternity hospital, the Dublin metro, public sector reform, harnessing our offshore energy resources, adapting to climate change, building houses, issuing forestry licences, making our public health system fit for purpose, financing third-level education, the printer in Leinster House.
