In light of their inexplicably awful display in the recent world cup, Eddie O'Sullivan's Irish team must surely have revenge against the gods of rugby on their minds as they open their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Croke Park tomorrow

And if revenge is a dish best served cold, they have chosen the perfect weekend to do it on, as the wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow are set to continue at least until Sunday morning.

While the Italians may not be used to cold wet days spent face down in the mud of GAA headquarters, a bunch of men that like doing nothing better are the Kerry team who take on Donegal at Ballybofey on Saturday.

Tomorrow's other main Allianz Football League action sees Parnell Park light up to Dublin playing Westmeath.

Which leads me nicely onto Beauty and the Beast(I'll let you decide who's who) playing in the Gaiety.

If it's a bit of outdoor pantomime your looking for this weekend then why not get out and support the guys and girls on the Ted40 charity milk float push.

The 70-year-old float - which featured in the Speed 3episode of Father Ted- is on a 40-day push around Ireland in a fund-raising drive for two Down Syndrome charities.

The float will go from Coleraine to Ballymena today, from Ballymena to Antrim tomorrow and from Antrim to Belfast on Sunday.
