A woman in her late 60s has died following a two-vehicle collision in Thurles, Co Tipperary, on Tuesday morning.
The body of the female driver, who was the sole occupant of her car during the collision with a truck, has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in South Tipperary General Hospital.
Gardaí said a postmortem will take place in due course. The male driver of the truck, who is in his mid-20s, was treated for shock at the scene by paramedics.
The incident occurred in the townland of Longford Pass on the southbound M8 motorway, south of junction 4, at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday.

Garda forensic collision investigators are conducting an examination of the scene.
A total of 93 people have died on Irish roads to date in 2021.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed Tuesday’s collision to come forward, including those who may have dashcam footage.
