Woman dies after being hit by car in Co Donegal

Pedestrian (70) suffered fatal head injuries in incident at Carndonagh

A 70-year-old woman has died in hospital after being struck by a car while out walking in Co Donegal.

The woman was knocked down at about 6pm yesterday at Churchtown, Carndonagh.

She was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry with serious head injuries, where she died shortly before midnight.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was not injured.
