Tram collision at Cheeverstown causes major Red line delays

There are traffic delays in Dublin this morning following an incident involving a Luas tram and a vehicle.

It is understood that there was a collision between the tram and a van at Cheeverstown, in Templeogue, southwest Dublin. Service earlier stopped between the Saggart and Belgrade stops on the Red line, but has fully repoened with minor delays.

Luas issued a statement on the incident: “Red line passengers please be advised that due to an earlier incident at Cheeverstown, services are operating with delays between Saggart and Belgard Luas stops. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
