Businessman Seán Quinn will not receive a pay-off after his contract at his former company was terminated last week, it has been confirmed.

The discharged bankrupt businessman lost his €500,000-a-year role with Quinn Industrial Holdings Ltd in Co Fermanagh following a dispute with its management team.

The dispute, which began almost immediately after the takeover of the manufacturing business in December 2014, resulted in Mr Quinn being ousted for a second time from the company he created.

Threats and sabotage

Mr Quinn’s son, Seán Quinn jnr, also a consultant, will also be leaving the Co Fermanagh-based company.

There have been several incidents at the company in recent months, including death threats and acts of sabotage. Last month, Mr Quinn condemned those involved in the intimidation and urged them to stop.

According to a well-informed source, if negative activity stops “there may be a possibility for some of the family – not Seán snr or Seán jnr – to work with the company in the future”.

There has been a mixed reaction in the Fermanagh-Cavan border area since Mr Quinn’s departure last week.
