A motorcyclist in his 30s has died following a crash on the M50 in Dublin.

The crash happened at around 9.30pm on Sunday near the ramp to the northbound lane at Junction 6 near Blanchardstown.

It is understood the motorcyclist hit a crash barrier. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed to facilitate a forensic investigation but has since reopened and diversions have been lifted.
