Man dies after hit struck by car while walking in Co Limerick

Collision took place in the village of Castleconnell early on Sunday

A man has been killed after he was struck by a car while walking in Castleconnell, Co Limerick on Sunday morning.

Gardai said the crash happened in the townland of Gooig shortly after 6am. The driver of the car was uninjured. The road is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place pending an examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators.
