A man and a woman have been arrested by gardaí in Tallaght, Dublin as part of an ongoing intelligence led investigation targeting serious and organised crime involving transnational organised crime groups.

Cash worth more than €100,000 was also seized when gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Special Crime Task Force intercepted a vehicle in the car park of a retail premises on Saturday.

A 32-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the offence of money laundering.

The man and woman were taken to Tallaght Garda station, where they remain detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
