Irish teenager still missing in London

Police say their earlier claim that Patrick Halpin (18) had been located was a mistake

The whereabouts of an 18-year-old Irish student who went missing in London on Tuesday night remain unknown.

Earlier it had been reported that Mr Halpin had been found safe and well at a London airport.

His sister Regina, who travelled to London today with her father, had been infromed that her brother had been found in Gatwick airport.

However, a spokesman from the Metropolitan Police has confirmed that a mistake had been made and Mr Halpin, a first-year DCU student from Loughrea, Co Galway, remains missing.
